A distinctive and familiar amber colour immediately recognisable in the glass. The nose reveals dried fruit together with a gentle green apple nuance that lifts the aromas of raisin and apricot and signals the presence of Mtsvane. The grape’s name in Georgian means “green” — a subtle tone that resonates in the wine’s aromatic profile.
On the palate the 2022 vintage shows maturity and a sense of completeness, with notable body and breadth. Structured and composed, the wine combines juicy fruit with a soft acidity that gives it a gentle vibration. Despite its depth it remains approachable and not heavy. A long, warm finish reinforces its calm yet expressive character rooted in Georgian winemaking culture.
Mtsvane is one of the most familiar and widely recognised grapes among Georgia’s more than 500 indigenous varieties. The wine undergoes more than 3 months of skin contact and is then aged further in Qvevri. In Vellino’s interpretation and in Beka’s signature, the 2022 vintage stands out for its fullness and rounded expression, giving the wine a beautiful sense of depth and cohesion.
