Character & Style
Khikhvi is an indigenous grape variety from Kakheti, known for its unique character and naturally velvety texture. In this interpretation, it shows itself soft, round, and already fully integrated.
In the glass, amber in colour. On the nose, notes of ripe apricot appear, with a subtle marmalade note and a touch of citrus zest.
On the palate, the wine is structured yet gentle, with flavours of quince and apricot. A fine acidity and a light, well-integrated tannin add depth, making the wine more complex and giving it a pleasant texture.
The wine needs time to open up and show all its complexity. We suggest decanting and serving it in Burgundy glasses.
Origin & Vinification
Khikhvi. The grapes come from the Ruispiri vineyard in Kakheti.
Around 6 months of skin maceration in Qvevri, followed by further ageing in the same vessel.
A classic Georgian approach to winemaking in a modern interpretation.
