Character & Style
Saperavi is probably the most well-known and important red grape variety of Georgia. Here, it presents itself in a classic Kakhetian style- clear and unfiltered in its expression.
In the glass, deeply dark in colour- typical for Saperavi. On the nose, wild forest berries appear, accompanied by notes of moss and pine forest, giving the wine an earthy, slightly cool aromatic profile.
On the palate, the wine is balanced and clearly structured, with red fruit at the forefront. The tannins are subtle, yet become more present in the finish, adding length and depth.
Origin & Vinification
One of the key red grape varieties of Georgia.
The grapes come from the Ikalto vineyard in Kakheti.
Around 6 months of skin maceration in Qvevri, followed by further ageing in the same vessel.
A classic Georgian approach to winemaking in a modern interpretation.
