A Chardonnay of maturity and depth, more slow waltz than quick dance. In the glass it shines amber. The nose shows ripe, almost overripe apple and stone fruit, accompanied by distinct notes of maturity. On the palate it is dry, with body and noticeable warmth, while fine bitter notes on the finish give it grip and definition. A Chardonnay full of character that deserves time and attention.
Chardonnay is one of only a few international varieties in Fedora’s vineyards. The 2018 vintage was meant to be the estate’s last single-varietal Chardonnay, hence the name. At the request of loyal customers, it returns with the 2022 vintage. The vines grow on Opoka on the terraces of the Vipavska Brda above Dolanci and are farmed organically.
After two days on the skins, the wine ages for 24 months in 500-litre French oak barrels and barriques. It is bottled unfiltered, in rhythm with the phases of the moon.
