The Tenuta di Poggimele Estate is located 5 km South-East from Empoli and is part of the Azienda Agricola Comparini. It extends over a total surface of 180 hectares, 12 of which planted to vines and 6 to olives all managed with organic farming practices. The average age of vineyards is 15 years and the elevation range is 60-120 m a.s.l. All wines are uniquely produced from grapes harvested in our vineyards.

Vigna Le Pietrine: historical documents dated 1770 describe the “Pietrine” hill cultivated with vineyards. The vineyard was re-planted in 1999; vineyard surface is 0,7 ha with a planting density of 2.5x0.8m, rows orientation is East-West and trellis system is single curtain; varieties: 50% merlot, 50% cabernet sauvignon. Grapes harvested here are used to produce “Le Pietrine IGT Toscana”
Vigna Sotto Poggimele: re-planted 2003 has a surface of 3.1ha and a planting density of 2.5x0.8m; varieties are: 33% merlot, 33% cabernet sauvignon, 33%Sangiovese. Grapes harvested in this vineyard are used to produce the “Rinnegato IGT” and the “Poggimele IGT Sangiovese”
